Nutcracker
The Good:
I am was pleasantly surprised that the ballet company featured dancers from many races-Caucasian, Asian, Black, Hispanic.
I was pleasantly surprised that acrobats were used for the show.
I was disappointed at the costumes. Some were ripped. One of the acrobats had a big hole in her pants. One of the ladies at the ball had a big hole in the back of her dress which her partner very masterfully tried to hide but positioning himself. I applaud him for the quick thinking.
The one professional looking couple was great. Again, make these dancers some good costumes.
The Bad:
The russian dance requires a russian dance not acrobats. I was disappointed at this.
Oh, the majority of the dancers looked gloomy. Only a handful few smiled at all. There was one little girl, with the blue dress, last stage right who smiled and danced with her heart. I applaud her. Please teach these girls to enjoy dancing, to smile. I felt depressed and saddened by watching the dancer's faces.
The head of the company looked gloomy, unhappy, did not smile, looked very strict. The end was a time of celebration, not a time of instruction. Everyone should smile and exhibit happiness at a job well done. I did not receive a good vibe from this man, the way he appeared on the stage.
Overall:
It's an OK presentation but if you are charging $30-40, you need to put more effort into the presentation.
